Something Sweet for all ages! Make family memories at new downtown vintage candy shop.
Something Sweet owners want their new vintage candy, souvenir and gift shop will be a step back in time.
“You can come in and get a retro toy or vintage candy that may relate to people who grew up in the ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s or today,” co-owner Charity Reesor said. “We want to make it exciting for people of all ages.”
The shop, located in the Rosin “Pink Building” Arcade in Downtown Arcadia, will feature candy, toys and other birthday party items, some vintage and some more modern.
“We want to gear to the kids as a major goal,” Reesor said. “We will have stuff that is trending now. You have things that trend on TikTok and it’s all the craze and we want that to be a part of that, too. We want everybody to be excited about it.”
The Something Sweet store is more than candy, it’s something different, something where families can make little moments into big memories.
“We want it to be candy that you can’t find everywhere,” she said. “We want something where people can come in and say, ‘Oh, I remember this from when I was a kid,’ and wanting their kids to experience what they experienced. You don’t really get that all the time.”
Something Sweet features a variety of candy with plans to sell giftboxes and other party favors.
“We want to have options for families on their way to a birthday party,” Reesor said. “So, if you are going to a birthday party, you can come here and get anything you would need to take to the party. We want kids to be able to come here and experience a party every day, whether that be to pick up a balloon, a special treat, or just to come in, enjoy the space and feel like they are having a party.”
