The John Morgan Ingraham House Museum, is a late 19th century home, restored as a memorial to all early pioneer families of the City of Arcadia and DeSoto County. It showcases a simple kind of “Florida Cracker” architecture and lifestyle and includes furniture and artifacts from that period plus other exhibits featuring local history.
The John Morgan Ingraham House is a prime example of an unaltered turn of the Century “Cracker House” within the city limits of Arcadia.
The DeSoto County Historical Society restored the Cracker House to be a memorial to the early pioneer families of Arcadia and DeSoto County.
Mr. John Morgan Ingraham represented DeSoto County in the State Legislature from 1945 through 1949 and during this time several important laws benefiting DeSoto County
