DID YOU KNOW
Back in 1917, the Arcadia Golf and Auto Club was organized in hopes of attracting tourist. Spearheaded by local, A.C. Polk with support from Governor, Albert W. Gilchrist, an avid golf enthusiast.
Unfortunately, the golf course was never built due to World War I. Arcadians again took up the matter in 1919 and construction began in the fall of 1922. Several matches were played on Christmas Day to celebrate its official opening.
In 2001, the City of Arcadia added another nine holes and renovated the existing golf course. Several original holes are still in use today.
The Arcadia Municipal Golf Course is located at 1769 NE Livingston St., Arcadia, FL.
