The Historic Heard Opera House has announced “An Evening with Terry Stewart,” who will perform songs from classic crooners like Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennet, Johnny Mathis and newer music by Josh Groban.

Terry will take the stage March 8 at 7 p.m.

Terry learned to sing in the church children's choir from the age of five. He was a part of high school choruses and participated in high school musical theater. In the mid 60s, Terry was the lead singer in a Rock and Roll band known as The Noblemen.

After high school, his singing was mostly at home or for friends' weddings. In 1993, he became part of a new community theater group, PPTOPA in the Fort Lauderdale area and performed in nine musical theater productions over the next nine years including lead roles in The King and I, Guys and Dolls, The Sound of Music, and Jekyll and Hyde. After moving to Cape Coral in 2002 he began performing annual charitable fund-raising concerts there at the city theater and also at Chapel By the Sea in Fort Myers Beach.

Terry now mostly sings at his church Mount Ephraim Baptist, but at other churches as well. He enjoys the old standards by Sinatra, Tony Bennet, Johnny Mathis and newer music by Josh Groban along with songs from various Broadway productions.

The Opera House is located at 106 W. Oak st. Arcadia fl, 34266.
