ARCADIA MAIN STREET
Arcadia is brimming with history. The town was founded in 1886 and the Arcadia Historic District encompasses 340 acres with 293 historic buildings. The area was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1984. Arcadia’s love of history continues with its incredible Downtown Antique District. You’ll find more than 25 antique shops and a host of related specialty stores. It’s easy to see why this city was named the state’s “Best Place for Antique Shopping” by Florida Monthly magazine. If you enjoy shopping for rare finds, you’re sure to uncover the perfect item for your home, office or gift list.
Every March, Arcadia hosts Florida’s “Best Rodeo,” according to Florida Monthly Magazine. For four days, the wildly popular Arcadia All Florida Championship Rodeo (“The Granddaddy of ‘Em All”) fills nearly 8,000 seats in Mosaic Arena. The rodeo is often paired with the popular Downtown Beer Walk. There’s a Wine Walk in December with live entertainment, hors d’oeuvres and wine samples. In April, you can enjoy the Downtown Roaring 20’s Gala with cocktails and dinner in a downtown park.
